The best gazebos for hot tubs

A hot tub puts a gazebo in a permanently humid, mildly corrosive microclimate. Chlorinated or brominated vapour rises off the water every time the cover comes off, condenses on the underside of the roof and runs back down the frame. It is not dramatic — it is a slow chemical load on the coating, every day, for years.

If your tub is used in summer and covered from November, a permanent structure over it is over-buying. A soft-top gives you shade and bug screening in the months you are outside and comes down before the weather that would test it.

The built-in dual rail system is the reason this one rather than any other soft-top. Netting and curtains run on a track in the frame, so you can screen two sides against mosquitoes — which a warm tub attracts reliably — and leave two open for vapour.

9.84 x 9.84 ft around a 7 x 7 ft tub is tight — about seventeen inches a side before the posts, less once you account for the rail. It works for a smaller tub and it does not work for a swim spa.
